  • What is the Pianist Prodigy Programme?

Pianist Prodigy™ Programme is a piano foundational programme for children as young as 3 years old.

Our students learn basic notation and foundation following the ABRSM syllabus in a fun and engaging way using colors, illustrations, storylines, and songs. This is not a standard music and movement course; we provide a comprehensive piano foundational course. Our students not only acquire valuable skills applicable to the piano but also transferable to other instruments in the future.

  • What do you teach in class?

We teach students how to play the piano keyboard instrument while instilling foundational skills essential for the musical journey ahead. Our materials are carefully formulated to fully expand a child’s musical interest & passion in piano. Students will learn notation, rhythms, musical terminology, practical pieces & theory activities suitable for their age group in a conducive studio environment where they can thrive.

Most importantly, students are not intimidated with this new learning curve of picking up a new instrument and can grow to develop an appreciation & love for piano music.

  • What is the minimum age requirement?

Our minimum age requirement to attend a trial and enroll in the programme is 3 years old.

  • My child is currently 2.5 years old, can we still attend a trial?

Students will learn basic piano foundation, notation, rhythm, and skills that they need to play independently.

  • Does my child need to have any prior knowledge of playing the piano to join?

The Pianist Prodigy Programme is suitable for complete beginners, no prior knowledge is required.

  • Do I need to own a piano for my child to attend class?

It is not mandatory for students to own a piano/keyboard prior to joining, however it will be good to at least have an instrument for your child to practice at home.

We are also offering promotional instrumental purchases with every new sign-up, please check with our Customer Service Team for more information. Basic models of keyboard would suffice at the introductory level. In future, if you think your child is ready to move on to a digital piano or upright piano at home, do feel free to check in with your teachers or our team for recommendations.

  • Can parents accompany their child during lessons?

Trial lessons are parent accompanied so you can see and experience the programme together with your child.

Regular lessons are non-parent accompanied to ensure full attention during the lesson. You may wait outside the studio after dropping off your child to ensure that they receive optimum attention during class.

A Parent-Teacher-Meeting (PTM) will be held at the conclusion of each book sub-level or grading level to discuss the student's assessment or performance. This meeting also provides an opportunity for you to communicate directly with the teacher. You will receive a message to come into class 10-15 minutes earlier on the date of PTM. We highly recommend parents to attend this.

Teachers will also upload videos of your child learning in class on an app: DiiLight, this may vary depending on the progress of your child. Do inform your teacher if you'd like to receive fewer or more videos.
