Should I enrol my child in a piano enrichment centre or with a private teacher?
Learning piano at an enrichment centre or with a private teacher has its boons and banes. Since there is no “one size fits all” solution and each student is unique, attending a trial class will be crucial in giving parents greater insight into the teaching methods, teachers and overall learning environment – important factors that would influence the final decision. Here at JoyWaltzAcademy, we offer complimentary trials where parents can sit in and gain a preview of how regular lessons will be conducted.
We will now expound on what you as a parent can expect by enrolling your child in our academy.
1. Time-tested teaching approach
Our flagship Pianist Prodigy Programme includes the Little Pianist Prodigy for students aged 3 to 6 and I am a Pianist Prodigy for students aged 7 to 12 which is focused on teaching piano through an exploratory and immersive approach. The aim is to foster music appreciation in young beginners and facilitate the pickup of music foundation in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
Our approach towards preparing students for ABRSM examinations is to focus on cultivating a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for musical excellence. This approach ensures that their achievement will be largely self-motivated. The focus on intrinsic motivation blended with patient guidance from our teachers has year-after-year yielded stellar outcomes.
2. Highly qualified and professional teachers
All of our teachers are highly qualified professionals with a minimum Grade 8 qualification and many have extensive performance experience. Our teachers are chosen not only for their qualifications, but for being adept in relating to their students. You can be assured that your child is in good hands while at JoyWaltzAcademy.
We also understand that the chemistry between a child and a teacher is a major driving force behind a child’s interest in continuing to learn the piano. With a team of accomplished teachers, finding a teacher with whom your child can connect is made even easier.
3. Conducive learning environment
Learning music is not just a matter of having a qualified teacher, but also having an environment that is focused on music education. Each classroom in our academy is fitted with sound-proof doors, equipped with a piano and stationery set to optimise learning for your child. Without the numerous distractions in a home-setting such as mobile gadgets, the TV, pets, ringing phones, or anything else, the 30 or 45 minutes is dedicated solely to learning music.
